Counselling and Therapy In Chester
How do I get started?
To make an initial enquiry, book an initial assessment session or to ask me any questions, you can contact me by using the contact link which you will find on the opposite side of this page.
What will happen at the Initial Therapy Session?
For me, this initial assessment session will give me the opportunity to see if I can support you effectively and would be of help to you. More importantly, for you, this initial session can give you the “feel” of what therapy would be like and to see if you feel comfortable working with me and feel ready to commence therapy. We can then decide where we go from here.
How often will I need to attend Therapy sessions?
The frequency of sessions will depend on the nature and severity of the problem you want to address. Psychotherapy is most effective when it is weekly and this is what I would recommend initially. This helps us build a solid and therapeutic working relationship, which is important in exploring most of the issues people bring to therapy. At a later point we would discuss the frequency of the sessions and may negotiate less frequent appointments.
Where will the sessions take place?
I work in a therapy centre in Chester, Cheshire. Please be aware all therapy rooms require access via a staircase. There are no ground floor rooms in the centre.
How long is each session?
Each session will last for 50 minutes.
What is the cost of each session?
For individuals, each 50 minute session will cost £45 per session.
I review my fees annually.
How do I pay?
I accept cash, BACS bank transfer or cheque and would ask that you pay at the beginning of each session.
“All that we are is the result of what we have thought. The mind is everything. What we think we become”
What if I want to end therapy?
This is no problem and we would discuss this during our sessions. I would ask that you do not end therapy abruptly and that we plan for the ending.
Are all sessions conducted in confidence?
All sessions will be confidential and I will only disclose information if required to do so by law. I will always keep notes of each of our sessions and I have regular supervision. However, all issues of confidentiality will be discussed in detail during the initial session.
