My name is Lesley and I offer counselling with individuals who are experiencing some form of distress or difficulty in their lives.
We may notice that we are experiencing uncomfortable feelings or that we are possibly repeating patterns of behaviour that are no longer helpful or useful to us.
At times, reaching out for support can be difficult, especially if you have never experienced having counselling or being in therapy before. However, making that first step can be really positive in trying to bring about change.
How I can help
I work with individuals in a safe, empathic and comfortable environment, in which to explore some of the difficulties they may be experiencing.
I have worked therapeutically with individuals, couples and families for over 10 years and with people who have experienced emotional or psychological distress.
People decide to have therapy for all different reasons. It can be to look at a particular issue that is concerning them or impacting on their life. For other people, it may be about making changes in their life, but they are not quite sure where to start. The reasons are different for everyone and therapy can often help and support people begin to make changes. It can also give them the opportunity to explore different things and help them make decisions about their life.

In my Counselling and Therapy Practice, I mainly use the theory of Transactional Analysis (TA) in my approach. TA is a model for understanding human behaviour, communication and relationships and can be used for human growth and personal change. However, I also use different theories and concepts, including Mindfulness, but this will depend on the individual and what we agree together is the best approach to achieve change.
